The Artium Phase Doppler Interferometer (PDI) instrument is based on the light scattering interferometry principle invented and developed by our scientists. This technology has been developed and evaluated over the past 20 years and is acknowledged as the most reliable and accurate means for characterizing spray and aerosol droplet dynamics.

The Artium LII-200 measures soot volume fraction and primary soot particle size. LII can be applied to raw exhaust (no dilution or treatment necessary) and provides a temporal resolution of up to 20Hz.

Artium offers the PDI Flight Probe for aircraft icing and cloud droplet measurements. The system is small enough to be mounted externally, and is provided with sufficient heating to keep it ice free under the most demanding conditions.
